The electrostatic force is one of the key conservative forces, i.e. it does not depend on the distance of an object’s path, only the displacement. It acts on a System of two or more staticCharges, and can be repulsive or attractive based on the charge polarity.
Moving charges
The electrostatic force, as the name implies, only acts on charges that aren’t moving. If these charges are moving, a Magnetic Force is generated instead.
