Bohr Model

Pros
  • Able to explain emission and absorption spectra
Cons
  • Only seems to explain for helium and helium-like atoms. Any atoms with 2+ electrons in the outer shell cannot be explained via the Bohr Model.

Hydrogen Model

In quantum mechanics, we define an energy operator, the so-called Hamiltonian H, for a physical system.

This Hamiltonian, can be plugged inside the Schrodinger Equation, a Partial Differential Equation, whose solutions are wave functions which can be squared, returns a probability density function. For example, the electron of Humiliation, the probability density returns the probability of finding the electron atposition of the electron
