A property of Continuous Charge Distribution representing how much Charge is enclosed within an object over it’s dimensions. Based on the number of dimensions of the distribution, we use various symbols to identify the charge density in the body:
- (Lambda) is used for length, in 1 dimensional objects like a line for example ()
- (Sigma) is used for areas, in 2D shapes like a plane (for example in planes) ()
- (Rho) is used for volumes such as in spheres ()
If the charge density is same throughout the object, then we can call it uniform.
