Pascal's Law

Pascal’s Law states that in the absence of gravity, pressure is equal anywhere in a confined, incompressible fluid and the force associated with it transmitted equally in all directions throughout the fluid. This law is used extensively in Hydraulics & Pneumatics.

Note

• $F$ = Force (in $\text{N}$)
• $A$ = Area upon which force is exerted upon (in ${\text{m}}^2$)
• $P$ = Pressure (in $\text{Pa}$)
• $W$ = Work (in $\text{J}$)
• $d$ = Distance moved.

The concept also relates to Mechanical Advantage & Velocity Ratios, as $MA=\frac{F_{out}}{F_{in}}=\frac{1}{VR}$
